Asparagus baked with parmesan cheese
Ingredients/Components
- each: salt and pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Parmesan cheese, grated - 4 oz
- butter cold - 1 Tbsp
- bunches fresh asparagus - 2 item
How to make asparagus baked with parmesan cheese:
Wash asparagus; break off hard ends. Steam asparagus in water for about 12 minutes; cut into 1-inch pieces. Butter a glass baking dish and put a layer of asparagus in the bottom. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, grated cheese and crumbs of butter (it's easier to crumble if it's cold). Add another layer of asparagus, then cheese, and so on, until you have used all the asparagus. The top layer should be cheese and butter. Put into a medium oven (325°) until the cheese is golden brown. Makes 6 to 8 servings.To make a heartier dish, use Cheddar cheese instead.
