Apricot nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/3 c
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
- can apricot halves - 1 oz
How to make apricot nut bread:
Drain apricots, reserving syrup. Press apricots through sieve or puree in blender. Add enough reserved syrup to make 1 cup; set aside.Cream sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time. Beat well after each. Add dry ingredients and apricots, alternately to creamed mixture (begin and end with dry ingredients). Stir in walnuts. Spoon into well greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool on wire rack.
