  • sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 3/4 c
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • all-purpose flour - 2 c
  • warm water - 2 c
  • orange juice - 3/4 c
  • butter or margarine softened - 2 Tbsp
  • snipped dried apricots - 1 c

How to make apricot bread:

Soak apricots in warm water for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, in mixing bowl, cream sugar, butter and egg. Stir in orange juice. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Stir into creamed mixture until just combined. Drain apricots well; add to batter along with nuts. Pour into a greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 55 minutes or until bread is done. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack.
