Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- water - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- dried apricots - 1 c
- nuts, chopped - 1 c
- orange juice - 1/2 c
How to make apricot bread:
Soak dried chopped apricots in water at least 1 hour. Drain and reserve 1/4 cup liquid. Cream margarine and sugar; add egg. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with orange juice and reserved water. Stir in apricots and nuts. Bake in a greased and floured loaf pan or 2 small pans at 350° about 1 hour. Let cool before slicing. This freezes well. If not enough water leftover from apricots, add water to get desired amount.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Breads, Time to make.
