Applesauce nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/3 c
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- raisins - 1/2 c
- quick oats - 1 c
- applesauce - 1 c
How to make applesauce nut bread:
Preheat oven to 350°. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg on sheet of waxed paper; set aside.In a large bowl, beat shortening, sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Beat in applesauce. Add flour mixture until well combined. Stir in oats, nuts and raisins; mix well.
Spread batter in pan; bake for 55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes. Run spatula around sides to loosen; turn out on wire rack. Let cool completely. (Should wrap and refrigerate overnight before slicing.)
