Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 3/4 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- evaporated milk - 2 c
- coconut - 1 c
- soda
- large egg - 1 item
- plain flour
- raisins - 1 c
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- light brown sugar
- soft shortening - 1/2 c
- allspice - 1/2 tsp
- applesauce and 1/2 c - 2 c
How to make applesauce cake:
Brown Sugar Topping:3 c. light brown sugar2 c. chopped pecans1 c. coconut2 c. evaporated milk Layers: Cream shortening and sugar together. Add eggs, applesauce and water. Mix well. Add dry ingredients. Stir well. Put in three or four 9-inch cake pans. Cook at 325° until done.Brown Sugar Topping: Combine all ingredients in saucepan. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
