Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
- cloves - 1/4 tsp
- white sugar - 1/2 c
- applesauce
- chopped raisins - 1/2 c
How to make applesauce cake:
Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, beat well. Sift together flour, salt, soda, baking powder and spices; add to creamed mixture, alternating with the applesauce. Beat well after each addition. Stir in nuts and raisins. Spread batter into a greased 13 x 9 1/2-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Low cholesterol.
