Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- egg yolks - 2 item
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 3/4 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- apples - 10 item
- Dough:2 c
- Bake at 425° for 25 to 30 minutes, until brown
- lemon juice to spreading consistency - 1 item
How to make apple squares:
Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, until thick.Dough:2 c. flour1/2 tsp. baking powder1 tsp. salt3/4 c. shortening2 egg yolks1/2 c. water1 Tbsp. lemon juice Mix together, then divide into two parts, one rolled to fit 10 x 13-inch pan, then add filling and remaining dough for top. Bake at 425° for 25 to 30 minutes, until brown.Glaze:1 1/2 c. powdered sugar dash of salt lemon juice (to spreading consistency) Mix together and drizzle over dough while hot.Recipe categories: Breads, Fruit, Apple.
