Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 3/4 tsp
- butter or margarine - 1 2
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- cold water - 5 6
- shortening - 2/3 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- to 8 tart apples, peeled and sliced - 6 item
How to make apple pie:
Filling:1 1/4 to 1 1/2 c. sugar1/8 tsp. salt3/4 tsp. cinnamon1/2 tsp. nutmeg2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour6 to 8 tart apples, peeled and sliced1 to 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine Mix dry ingredients together. Add sliced apples and mix to coat. Place apples in bottom of pastry. Dot with butter. Cover with top pastry. Bake at 450° for 15 minutes, then at 350° for 45 minutes until golden brown.In memory of Doris.
