Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- dash of salt - 1 item
- thinly sliced, pared tart apples - 6 c
How to make apple pie:
Heat oven to 425°. Prepare pastry. Stir together sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Mix with apples. Turn into pastry and dot with butter. Cover with top crust. Cut slits in crust and sprinkle with sugar. Cover edges of crust with aluminum foil. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Makes a 9-inch pie.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
