  • eggs - 2 item
  • chopped pecans - 1/4 c
  • granulated sugar - 1/2 c
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • butter or margarine - 1 c
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • raisins - 1/4 c
  • sifted all-purpose flour - 2 c
  • ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • quick-cooking rolled oats - 2 c
  • finely diced, unpared apples - 1 c
  • each salt and cloves - 1/2 tsp

How to make apple-oatmeal cookies:

In saucepan, combine fruits, nuts, granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons water. Cook and stir until thick and apples are tender, about 10 minutes. Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs. Sift together dry ingredients; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Stir in oats, reserve 3/4 cup dough. Drop remainder from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet, make depression in centers, top with apple filling and dab of reserved dough. Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 36.
