Apple-nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- sour cream - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- soda - 2 tsp
- vegetable oil - 1 c
- beaten eggs - 4 item
- peeled, chopped apples - 2 c
How to make apple-nut bread:
Gradually add sugar to eggs; beat until light and fluffy. Add combined dry ingredients, alternately with oil and sour cream, beating well. Stir in apples, pecans and vanilla. Bake in 2 greased loaf pans 1 hour at 350°.For Banana Bread, prepare as for Apple-Nut Bread, substituting mashed ripe bananas for the apples. Buttermilk may be used instead of the sour cream, and nuts are optional.
For only 1 loaf, simply divide the recipe in half.
