Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cold water - 1/3 c
  • lemon juice - 3/4 tsp
  • unsweetened apple juice
  • stick cinnamon - 1 item
  • whole cloves - 6 item
  • unflavored gelatin

How to make apple jelly:

Combine juices, cloves and cinnamon in heavy pan. Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes. Then, soak gelatin in cold water. Remove juice from heat; discard cloves and cinnamon. Add gelatin and sugar substitute; mix well to dissolve. Pour into 2 hot, clean 1/2 pint jars. Cover lightly until cool, then cover tightly and store in the refrigerator.

Note: Use as a spread on bread, toast, crackers, etc.

Yield: 22 servings. Each serving: 1 tablespoon. Free food (up to 2 servings per day).
