Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- stick butter - 1 item
- light Karo syrup - 2 Tbsp
- large apples, peeled and sliced - 4 item
- slices French bread, sliced 3/4-inch thick - 8 item
How to make apple french toast:
Melt butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar and Karo. Cook over medium heat until bubbly. Pour into 13 x 9 greased pan. Add all of apple slices. Beat eggs. Add milk and vanilla to eggs. Dip slices of French bread into milk mixture and layer over top of apples in pan. Refrigerate overnight. Bake, uncovered, in 350° oven for 35 minutes. To serve, use spatula and invert each slice of bread on serving plates. Spoon apples over top.Recipe categories: Eggs/dairy, Breakfast, Apple.
