- sugar
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- water - 2 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- shortening - 3/4 c
How to make apple dumplings:
Syrup:2 c. sugar2 c. water1/4 tsp. nutmeg1/4 tsp. cinnamon1/2 c. butter Mix the first 4 ingredients like pie dough; divide into 8 parts. Pare and core 8 apples into quarters. Place in center of rolled dough and fold dough upward around apples after sprinkling with sugar, butter, nutmeg and cinnamon. Put in deep pan.Boil syrup 5 minutes. Pour syrup on top of Apple Dumplings and bake 30 minutes at 350°. Serves 6.
