  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 2 c
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • shortening - 2/3 c
  • apples - 6 item

How to make apple dumplings:

Peel apples and slice each in half. Boil apples with the sugar, water and cinnamon. Set aside.

Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, shortening and milk. Roll out dough. Cut dough and place 1/2 apple on each section of dough. Put 1 tablespoon sugar and sprinkle of cinnamon on top of each 1/2 apple and pat of butter on each. Fold dough over apple. Place in baking pan. Pour boiled mixture over apple dumplings in pan and bake at 375° for approximately 45 minutes or until apples are tender.
