Apple crunch
Ingredients/Components
- rolled oats - 2/3 c
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- ground cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- thinly sliced apples - 6 c
- cold butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- chopped walnuts or pecans - 1/4 c
- maple syrup, divided - 1/2 c
- whole wheat or all-purpose flour - 1/2 c
How to make apple crunch:
Place apples in an 8 x 8-inch baking dish. Drizzle with lemon juice and 6 tablespoons maple syrup. Mix well; set aside. Place flour in a medium bowl. Use pastry blender to cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in oats, nuts, cinnamon and remaining 2 tablespoons maple syrup. Spoon mixture over apples. Microwave on High 6 minutes. Rotate dish half turn. Microwave on High 6 to 7 minutes, until apples are tender.Recipe categories: Desserts, Fruit, Apple.
