Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- water - 1/4 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- white sugar - 2 Tbsp
- softened butter or margarine - 3 Tbsp
- pared, sliced apples - 4 c
How to make apple crisp:
Mix white sugar with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples and mix lightly. Spread apples in a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan. Sprinkle with water. Blend flour, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix in shortening to make crumbly mixture. Spread over apples. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 40 minutes or until lightly browned and apples are tender.Recipe categories: Desserts, Apple, Cobblers and crisps.
