Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 3/4 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- brown sugar - 3/4 c
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- nutmeg - 3/4 tsp
- margarine, softened - 1/3 c
- lemon juice - 1/4 c
- grated lemon rind - 1 Tbsp
- oats - 1/2 c
- heavy cream, whipped - 1 c
- sliced tart apples - 4 c
- crumb crust wafer or graham cracker - 1 item
How to make apple crisp:
Combine beaten egg yolks, sugar, lemon juice, lemon peel and salt; cook in a double boiler, stirring constantly until mixture coats a spoon. Cool; fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Fold in whipped cream. Pour filling into crust. Place in freezer and freeze firm. Serve frozen.Recipe categories: Desserts, Apple, Cobblers and crisps.
