  • sugar - 3/4 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • milk - 3 4
  • vanilla extract - 1 Tbsp
  • butter or margarine - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder
  • all-purpose flour - 3 c
  • thinly sliced apples - 8 c
  • sugar, divided - 1 c
  • quick cooking tapioca - 2 Tbsp

How to make apple cobbler:

Topping:1 Tbsp. milk3/4 tsp. sugar1/4 tsp. cinnamon In a bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. In another bowl, lightly beat eggs and vanilla; add to crumb mixture. With a fork, gently mix in milk to moisten. Stir until dough forms a ball. Press half of the dough into the bottom of a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Chill the remaining dough. Toss apples with tapioca, cinnamon and remaining sugar; place over dough in pan. On a lightly floured surface, roll chilled dough to fit top of pan. Place over apples. Brush with milk. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle on top. Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is a golden brown. Yields 12 to 16 servings.
