Ingredients/Components
- white sugar - 2 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- soda - 2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- apples, peeled and finely chopped - 4 c
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- Then blend in apples and walnuts
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- cream - 1/2 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
How to make apple cake with caramel sauce:
Cream sugar and shortening together; add eggs and dry ingredients. Then blend in apples and walnuts. Pour batter into 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake 1 hour at 350° in a 9 x 13-inch pan.Caramel Sauce:1/2 c. white sugar1/2 c. brown sugar1/2 c. cream1/2 c. butter1 tsp. vanilla1/2 tsp. salt Mix sauce ingredients together and bring to a boil.
