Ingredients/Components

  • plain flour - 2 c
  • sugar
  • salt - 5/8 tsp
  • baking soda - 3/4 tsp
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • nutmeg - 3/4 tsp
  • cinnamon - 3/4 tsp
  • oil may substitute same amount applesauce - 5/8 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • chopped nuts
  • fresh apples, chopped
  • vanilla - 1 tsp

How to make apple cake:

Mix sugar and oil together. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add to first mixture. Mix well and add apples and nuts. Bake at 275° for approximately 1 1/2 hours in a waxed paper-lined tube pan.
