Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- cooking oil - 1 c
- chopped walnuts optional - 1/2 1
- diced, pared apples - 3 c
- Sift together 2 cups flour, salt and baking soda
How to make apple cake:
Beat together the oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift together 2 cups flour, salt and baking soda. Add dry ingredients, beating well after each addition. Stir in apples. Combine walnuts and 1 tablespoon flour; stir into batter. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Cool; spread with the following topping.Topping:1/2 c. margarine1 c. brown sugar1/4 c. milk Bring to a boil; boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
