Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- brown sugar
- butter - 1/2 c
- evaporated milk - 1/4 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cooking oil - 1 c
- plain flour - 3 c
- apples - 2 c
How to make apple cake:
Glaze:1 c. brown sugar1/2 c. butter1 tsp. vanilla1/4 c. evaporated milk Combine cooking oil and sugar. Add well beaten eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Measure and sift together flour, salt and soda. Add this mixture to first mixture. Stir in chopped fresh apples and nuts. Mix thoroughly with ingredients. Pour into tube or loaf pan and bake at 300° for 1 hour or until brown.For caramel glaze, place butter and brown sugar in double boiler and add evaporated milk. Bring to a full boil. Cool and then add vanilla. Spread glaze over cake.
