Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- unsifted flour
- dash of salt - 1 item
- apples, peeled, cored and sliced - 6 item
- Crisco or Wesson oil - 1/2 c
How to make apple cake:
Beat eggs well. Add vanilla and gradually add sugar. Combine the salt, baking powder and flour together. Add oil and flour mixture alternately into the eggs. Blend well. Place more than half of batter into 9-inch square, greased and floured cake pan. Add sliced apples over the batter. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg, then pour the rest of the batter over the apples. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.
