Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 4 item
  • milk
  • vanilla extract - 2 tsp
  • butter or margarine - 3 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • cold water
  • raisins - 1/2 c
  • butter or margarine, melted - 1/4 c
  • medium apples - 4 item
  • stale bread cubes - 9 c

How to make apple bread pudding:

Caramel Sauce:1 c. cold water1 Tbsp. cornstarch1/2 c. sugar1 tsp. cinnamon3 Tbsp. butter or margarine2 tsp. vanilla extract Preheat oven to 375°. Cut bread in small pieces and place in baking pan. Add raisins. Pour milk over bread and raisins. Peel, core and slice apples. Place over bread mixture.

In bowl, combine sugar, eggs and butter; whisk until smooth. Pour egg mixture over apples and stir to combine. Bake 50 to 55 minutes.

Sauce: Combine water and cornstarch in microwave bowl; stir until blended. Add sugar and cinnamon; whisk until dissolved. Microwave on High 2 to 3 minutes or until thick. Stir halfway through. Remove. Add butter and vanilla. Stir until butter is melted. Serve sauce over bread pudding.
