Ingredients/Components
- to 12 slices bread, cubed - 10 item
- apple, peeled and sliced thin - 1 item
- eggs, well beaten - 3 item
- sugar - 1 c
- milk - 4 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- cinnamon - 1 item
- nutmeg - 1 item
- raisins optional - 1/2 c
- Heat milk, sugar and margarine until margarine is melted
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- butter extract - 1/2 tsp
- rum extract - 2 tsp
How to make apple bread pudding:
Place bread cubes, apple and raisins in a 9 x 13-inch buttered metal pan. Heat milk, sugar and margarine until margarine is melted. Beat eggs well in a large bowl. Add hot milk slowly to eggs; mix well. Pour over bread cubes. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Bake at 325° for 45 to 50 minutes. Serve warm with Rum Sauce.Rum Sauce:3/4 c. sugar2 Tbsp. flour1 stick margarine1 c. water2 tsp. vanilla1/2 tsp. butter extract2 tsp. rum extract Mix flour with sugar.
