Ingredients/Components

  • to 12 slices bread, cubed - 10 item
  • apple, peeled and sliced thin - 1 item
  • eggs, well beaten - 3 item
  • sugar - 1 c
  • milk - 4 c
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • cinnamon - 1 item
  • nutmeg - 1 item
  • raisins optional - 1/2 c
  • Heat milk, sugar and margarine until margarine is melted
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 1 c
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • butter extract - 1/2 tsp
  • rum extract - 2 tsp

How to make apple bread pudding:

Place bread cubes, apple and raisins in a 9 x 13-inch buttered metal pan. Heat milk, sugar and margarine until margarine is melted. Beat eggs well in a large bowl. Add hot milk slowly to eggs; mix well. Pour over bread cubes. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Bake at 325° for 45 to 50 minutes. Serve warm with Rum Sauce.Rum Sauce:3/4 c. sugar2 Tbsp. flour1 stick margarine1 c. water2 tsp. vanilla1/2 tsp. butter extract2 tsp. rum extract Mix flour with sugar. Add water and margarine and cook until bubbly. Remove from heat and add flavorings. Serve over warm Apple Bread Pudding.
