Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- vegetable shortening - 1/2 c
- sour milk - 2 Tbsp
- unpeeled apples, cored and diced - 2 c
How to make apple bread:
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Sift together flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Stir nuts into flour mixture. Set aside. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla and sour milk. Combine well and stir in apples. Stir in dry ingredients. Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake 50 to 60 minutes or until pick inserted in center comes out clean.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Apple.
