Angel food cake



  • sugar
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp
  • flour all-purpose - 1 c
  • egg whites very fresh - 11 item

How to make angel food cake:

Sift sugar into stiffly beaten egg whites and beat well. Add flour, sifted 5 times with cream of tartar. Add vanilla. Stir as little as possible after adding flour. Bake in floured tube pan for 45 minutes. Invert and let stand until cold.

Note: This recipe dates back to 1923.
