  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp
  • walnuts, chopped optional - 1/2 c

How to make angel crisp cookies:

Cream butter, shortening and sugars. Add other ingredients in order given. Roll into balls the size of a walnut; dip top in sugar. Place on cookie sheet, sugar side up, and bake at 375° for 8 minutes.
