  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1 c
  • nuts optional - 1 item
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp
  • white sugar - 1/2 c

How to make angel cookies:

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Sift flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt. Add to creamed mixture; add vanilla. Roll in balls, then roll in white sugar. Bake in a 375° oven until lightly browned.
