Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/3 c
- buttermilk
- shortening - 1 c
- self-rising flour - 5 c
- warm water - 1/4 c
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
How to make angel biscuits:
Sift flour and cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in water and combine with milk. Add yeast mixture to dry ingredients and stir well. Knead; add flour if needed. Roll out on floured board 1/2-inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter. Bake at 450° until brown. You can pinch off and bake in muffin tins.Recipe categories: Breads, Rolls/biscuits, Yeast breads.
