Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt
- flour - 5 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- warm water - 2 Tbsp
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
How to make angel biscuits:
Sift into large bowl, the flour, cut in shortening; add buttermilk and yeast which has been dissolved in water. Stir until moist, knead a few minutes. Roll to 1/2-inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter. Place on ungreased pan and let raise 1 hour, brush with milk and butter. Bake at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes.
