  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 2 c
  • baking powder - 3 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • cake yeast - 1 item
  • lukewarm water - 2 Tbsp

How to make angel biscuits:

Dissolve yeast in water. In bowl, sift flour with other dry ingredients. Cut in shortening; add buttermilk, then yeast. Stir until flour is dampened. Knead on floured board 1/2 minute. Roll out 1/2-inch thickness; cut with biscuit cutter. Bake at 40
