Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/3 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- shortening - 1 c
- self-rising flour - 5 c
- warm water - 1/4 c
- yeast - 2 pkg
How to make angel biscuits:
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Sift together flour with other dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add buttermilk, then yeast mixture. Stir until all flour is moistened. Knead on floured board 1 or 2 minutes. Roll out or drop on a greased pan or tins. Store in refrigerator until needed. Pre-bake rolls 6 to 8 minutes or bake 12 to 15 minutes at 375° to 400°.
