Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- plain flour - 5 c
- Crisco - 1 c
- warm water
- yeast - 1 pkg
How to make angel biscuits:
Dissolve yeast in water. Sift flour. Add dry ingredients to flour. Cut in shortening. Stir in yeast mixture and buttermilk. Mix until moistened. May be rolled out and cut into biscuits. Place in greased baking pan. Allow to rise about an hour before baking. Bake at 400° for 12 to 18 minutes.
