Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 3 Tbsp
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- lukewarm water
How to make angel biscuits:
Soften yeast in warm water and set aside. Sift dry ingredients together. Cut shortening into flour mixture. Add milk and softened yeast. Stir until well blended. Store in refrigerator about 1 hour before baking. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick and cut using a 2 inch cutter. Let rise for 1 hour.
