Amish friendship bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 2 c
- oil - 2/3 c
- baking powder
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- raisins - 1 item
- warm water - 2 c
- instant vanilla pudding
- envelope yeast - 1 item
How to make amish friendship bread:
Pour into 2 well-greased and sugared loaf pans. Bake 40 to 50 minutes at 350°. Pass along these instructions with 1 cup of starter to friend.Day 1: Do nothing. Never refrigerate the starter.
Days 2, 3 and 4: Stir once a day with a wooden spoon.
Day 5: Put starter in a larger bowl and add 1 cup of each: flour, milk and sugar. Stir.
Days 6, 7, 8 and 9: Stir once a day.
Day 10: Add 1 cup each: flour, milk and sugar. Pour one cup each into 3 containers and give to 3 friends with a copy of this recipe.
