Amish bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- oil - 3/4 c
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- baking powder
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 5 c
- walnuts - 1 c
- box instant vanilla pudding - 1 oz
How to make amish bread:
Do not refrigerate. Do not use metal container. Do not use mixer. Burp lid every day. Keep in plastic container with a lid.Day 1: Receive starter from friend or make own starter which is 1 cup milk, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup plain flour.
Days 2, 3, 4: Stir once with wooden spoon only.
Day 5: Add 1 cup milk, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup all-purpose flour; stir.
Days 6, 7, 8, 9: Stir with wooden spoon only.
Day 10: Add 1 cup milk, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup flour. Stir. Take 3 plastic containers and put 1 cup of mixture into each. Give these to 3 friends along with a copy of these instructions.
Add to remaining ingredients. Mix with wooden spoon and pour into 2 well greased and sugared loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.
