  • sugar
  • eggs - 3 item
  • half and half - 1 qt
  • almond extract - 2 Tbsp
  • margarine, softened - 2 Tbsp
  • sliced almonds - 3/4 c
  • powdered sugar - 1 c
  • raisins optional - 1 item
  • egg, well beaten - 1 item
  • loaf French bread - 1 item
  • Pour on half and half
  • Amaretto liqueur optional - 1 Tbsp

How to make amaretto bread pudding:

Break bread into small pieces and place in medium bowl. Pour on half and half. Cover bowl and let stand for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 325°. Grease 9 x 13-inch pan. In small bowl, beat eggs, sugar and almond extract. Stir into bread mixture. Gently fold in almonds and raisins. Spread evenly in pan. Set on middle rack and bake 50 minutes until golden.Sauce:8 Tbsp. margarine1 c. powdered sugar1 egg, well beaten1 Tbsp. Amaretto liqueur (optional)2 tsp. almond extract Heat margarine and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved and mixture is hot. Remove and whisk egg well into mixture. Whisk until mixture comes to room temperature. Add liqueur and flavoring. Preheat broiler. Cut dessert into squares. Spoon sauce over pudding and broil until sauce bubbles. Serve immediately.
