  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • sticks margarine - 2 item
  • baking powder - 1 Tbsp
  • large eggs - 4 item
  • unsweetened cocoa - 1 c
  • instant coffee - 1 tsp
  • chopped blanched almonds - 1 c

How to make almond chocolate biscotti:

Preheat oven to 350°. In large bowl, mix at medium speed the sugar and margarine until light and fluffy. Add 1 cup flour and next 6 ingredients. With mixer at low speed, beat until blended. Stir in remaining 1 1/2 cups flour, then add almonds.

With well-floured hands, shape dough into 2 (12 x 3-inch) loaves. Place about 3 inches apart on large cookie sheet. Bake 25 to 30 minutes until loaves are firm to touch. Cool about 20 to 25 minutes.

Remove loaves to cutting board. With serrated knife, cut diagonally into 3/4-inch slices. Arrange slices upright and bake another 20 minutes. Cool completely. Store in upright container.
