Almond butter crunch
Ingredients/Components
- water - 3 Tbsp
- light corn syrup - 1 Tbsp
- cup butter or margarine - 1 item
- 1/3 cups sugar - 1 item
- cup coarsely chopped almonds, toasted - 1 item
- milk chocolate bars, melted
- cup finely chopped almonds, toasted - 1 item
How to make almond butter crunch:
In a large sauce pan, melt butter; add sugar, corn syrup and water. Cook; stirring occasionally, to hard-crack stage (300 degrees). Quickly stir coarsely chopped nuts; spread in ungreased 13x9 inch pan. Cool thoroughly. Turn out on waxed paper; spread top with half the chocolate; sprinkle with half the finely chopped almonds. Cover with waxed paper, invert. Spread with chocolate; sprinkle with remaining nuts. If necessary, chill to firm, crack in pieces.Note: Watch carefully after 280 degrees.
