Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
  • sage - 1/4 tsp
  • small onion, diced - 1 item
  • lemon peel - 1 tsp
  • thyme - 1/2 tsp
  • sweet basil - 1/4 tsp
  • almonds, ground - 2 c
  • parsley, freshly chopped - 4 tsp
  • brown rice, cooked with salt - 2/3 c
  • whole wheat bread crumbs or 1/2 crumbs and 1/2 bran - 1 c
  • tomato soup undiluted - 4 Tbsp

How to make almond burgers:

Combine ingredients and form into patties. Fry in lightly oiled skillet until brown. While browning, heat 2 cans of tomato soup, diluted with 1 can water in a pan. When patties are brown, turn into the tomato sauce and let simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes and salad. Serves 4 to 6.
