Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- salt
- vinegar - 1 c
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- mustard seed - 1 tsp
- canola oil - 3/4 c
- large cabbage, chopped - 1 item
How to make 24 hour slaw:
Bring sugar, vinegar, salt and celery and mustard seed to a boil; add oil. Pour over cabbage and onion. Let stand, covered, in refrigerator for 24 hours. Keeps well.I sometimes add a small amount of carrot.
