  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • eggs, separated - 4 item
  • baking powder - 3 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c

How to make 1-2-3-4 cake:

Combine the first 3 ingredients. Add egg yolks and beat thoroughly. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into batter. Pour into greased pans (I use 3 round pans). Bake in 350° oven for 30 minutes.
